Sexout Spunk

“Love Comes In Spurts”

What it does

Sexout Spunk is, at its core, a data communication mod. It started as a detailed, flexible way to work out who orgasms and where the cum goes. Whenever an actor orgasms, it records data such as gender, race, species, where the ejaculate lands, its volume, and the time of ejaculation, then keeps tracking and recalculating that information. Other systems have joined it over time, but they’re all modular: use the ones you want and leave the rest off. Here’s how they work:

1. Lust tracking

Lust works as a primary need here. It builds over the long term, eventually becoming an itch you’ll want to scratch. Buffs and debuffs give that need some weight in gameplay.

Spunk uses a lust scale of 0 to 100. You can display it through Spunk’s own HUD, or through patches for oHUD and IMCNNV.

The player is tracked whenever lust tracking is enabled, which it is by default. To track an NPC, put them under your crosshair and press the hotkey you’ve assigned in the MCM submenu. Press it again on that NPC to stop tracking them.

Sexual acts lower lust when the actor could reasonably be expected to orgasm from that act.

Actors who are raped have their lust set to a negative value. It recovers to 0 only with time, with the recovery affected by the setting you choose.

Drugs, alcohol, and drug withdrawal can change how quickly lust builds. Some speed it up; others slow it down. SleepEZ and LustOh from SODrugs also affect the lust increase rate.

The Frigid and Horndog perks affect lust gain by 5% per rank. Nymphomaniac increases both lust gain and arousal gain by 5%. With the masochist perk, being wounded makes you hornier and easier to satisfy.

2. Arousal and orgasm

Each actor in a sex act gets a calculated ‘arousal’ value. Once that value passes 100, it counts as an orgasm and triggers the related systems described below, including cum tracking.

Arousal depends on
– the actor’s lust value at the time,
– a gender-specific value configurable in MCM,
– their experience and their partners’ experience in the roles being performed, if XP tracking is enabled,
– their personal preferences for those roles, if enjoyment tracking is enabled,
– any remaining rape penalties (see lust tracking),
– the act’s timing relative to Sexout’s default duration.

An act can therefore end without an actor reaching orgasm. That can reduce their enjoyment of the roles they performed, which can turn into a vicious circle. When the player is participating, you can try holding the ‘run’ control to build your own arousal faster, or the ‘crouch’ control to slow it down. The HUD readout should help you see where things stand.

For acts an actor can’t orgasm from, such as performing oral, their arousal is capped.

Enabling arousal can also change how long an act lasts. If both actors have orgasmed and the current timing falls within the window you’ve configured in MCM, there’s a good chance it will end early. On the other hand, an actor who’s ‘nearly there’ may keep the act going until they orgasm.

Insatiable increases your chances of continuing after orgasm.

3. Cum tracking

As mentioned earlier, cum tracking is a core background system used by the other features. It’s a virtual model of what happens when actors orgasm during sex.

Settings such as ‘pullout’, ‘squirt’, and ‘overflow’ determine where cum ends up. It’s recorded in arrays I call ‘spurts’, which store the actor’s species, race, gender, identity, cum volume, and time of ejaculation.

4. Sperm tracking

Vaginal cum spurts gradually release sperm into the sperm tracking system. This copies the cum tracking data but substitutes “sperm count” for “volume”, keeping the other information intact. Sperm counts build over time, and sperm also dies off after a set period. In between, a mod such as Sexout Pregnancy can check whether the count is high enough to cause pregnancy. The result is fairly realistic, but it doesn’t allow instant pregnancy. If you want better odds, try increasing the cum volume settings in MCM.

5. Smell tracking

When a non-human species orgasms, it leaves a ‘smell’ on the receiver. Other creatures of that species will then treat the receiver as friendly. You can set the duration in MCM.

Anchorage chimera tanks, Lucky 38 securitrons, Liberty Prime, and ZAX computers are excluded. Faction-sniffing dogs won’t turn you into a member of the Legion, NCR, or another faction.

6. Cum shaders

An orgasm can apply cum shaders to the receiver’s body. Choose ‘let spunk decide’ in MCM and the result depends on how much cum the virtual tracking system (3) places outside the body. If you’d rather have shaders appear every time, other settings let you override that behavior.

Cum from certain creatures may look odd. That’s deliberate.

The ‘dripping’ shader has a fairly short duration so its fade-out lines up with the ‘permanent’ shader being applied. I’ve posted instructions for extending that duration… somewhere in the thread.

7. Washing

Interacting with water can prompt you to wash if cum tracking shows cum outside your body, or if you have a shader or smell applied. Washing clears all three. You can tell NPCs to wash, too.

There are two methods for detecting water interaction. The effect-based method catches more water types, including puddles, but causes problems for some users. If that happens, MCM also offers an activator-based method.

8. Experience and enjoyment

When an act begins, Spunk works out what each actor is doing and assigns the appropriate ‘roles’.
The role strings are: Sucker, Sucked, Fucker, Fucked, Assfucker, Assfucked, Licker, Licked, Titfucker, Titfucked, Jerker, Jerked, Fingerer, Fingered, Footsier, Footsied, Tribber, Inserter, Inserted, DoggyDo, DoggyDone, MissDo, MissDone, Riding, Ridden, Tantric, Bound, Binding, Dom, Sub, Group, Whipper, Whipped. (Titfucker & Footsier refer to the owners of the tits/feet.)

The count system records how often an actor has performed each role, along with how often they’ve been with a non-human species. These counts are stored as NX variables using the following namespace:
“SO:Count:Role:Rolestring”
“SO:Count:Species:Speciesstring”
(The outdated documentation included with the mod contains the species strings.)

The XP system awards experience according to the participants’ existing experience and how difficult it should be to bring the other actor to orgasm. Everyone gets at least a small increase, but actors who get their partner(s) to orgasm earn more.
“SO:XP:Role:Rolestring”
“SO:XP:Species:Speciesstring”
With the Are You Experienced? perk, the sex experience you earn is also added to your game XP.

Enjoyment follows a simple premise: orgasming during an act raises your preference for what you did, while failing to orgasm or being raped lowers it.
“SO:Enjoy:Role:Rolestring”
“SO:Enjoy:Species:Speciesstring”
A role an actor hasn’t tried generally starts at the neutral enjoyment value of 1. A few begin higher, such as receiving oral, while others begin lower, such as receiving anal and whipping.

The XP and Enjoy systems both use a range of 0.2 to 5, with their values serving as multipliers for arousal gain during an act. The neutral value is 1.

If your character’s arousal barely rises, generate a Spunk log before sex and inspect it afterwards. Look for a line beginning with “SpunkSPArousalScpt” followed by several numbers. “XPF” is the experience factor, and “Enjoy” is the enjoyment factor. Enjoyment in particular might be lower than you’d like.
To change it, open the console, click the character, and enter:
Set_EVFL “SO:XP:Role:TheRoleString” somevalue
Another option is to disable XP and/or enjoyment tracking in MCM. This should clear all your enjoyment variables so you can start fresh. Wait at least 5 seconds in game before enabling it again.

Spunk can assign the player character up to 66 perks based on their enjoyment of particular roles. These perks don’t do anything on their own. They’re indicators of how much or how little your character enjoys an act, which you should be able to read from each perk’s description and rank.

9. Troubleshooting

– Check that your NVSE, SexoutNG, and NX versions meet the requirements. If Spunk tells you they don’t, take that warning seriously.
– Run the latest version of Spunk. A bug you’re seeing in an older release may already be fixed.
– Make use of the debug tools in MCM. If you’re reporting a suspected bug, use “generate log” so the log actually captures the problem.
– If an actor, particularly the player, doesn’t seem to orgasm during sex, revisit the arousal (2) and enjoyment (8) sections.

Credits

Jaam deserves most of the credit for porting the fancy NVSE4 features this mod uses, fixing the ones that didn’t initially work, and adding extra functionality to nx for me. I bothered him with all sorts of requests, and he consistently delivered in record time, so I made him co-author. I’d really like to see more modders put these tools to use and build great mods with them.
ChaseRoxand, for creating the original SexoutLust, the basis for most of my lust tracking.
A.J., for showing me how to work with HUDs.
Zippy57, for Lust’s original pHUD and oHUD readout addons.
The author of Lust’s anyHUD addon, whoever you are.
Prideslayer, for helpful pointers along the way.
Hal, for suggesting the idea & staying patient as it kept expanding. It wouldn’t be a Doc mod without some feature creep. :classic_wink:
Odessa, for an excellent debug dump template
QQuix, for the “DeepDump” UDF on the TES4 modding wiki and the nested-array examples scattered through posts on the Beth forums. Without those, I wouldn’t have known whether nested arrays were even possible, let alone how to use them.
TSS5062, for the cum shaders. Nicely done!
panthercom, for coming up with perk names.
The unknown Japanese modders behind the textures used in the cum shaders—the LoverswithPK bukkake textures.
Everyone who submitted a bug report with enough information for me to fix it.
