NAF Surrender (Updated 05/28/26)
This will probably be the final release of SAF Surrender unless someone else takes over the project.
SAF mostly doesn’t work on my setup. Animations won’t play except in camera mode, and NPCs just stutter in place. Even triggering SAF animations directly through the console gives me the same result. I’ve spent many hours troubleshooting and reinstalling, but SAF is still broken here, which makes developing or debugging this mod very difficult.
Some users don’t seem to have this problem. I don’t know why SAF works for some people and not others. It’s frustrating. Hopefully the system for making vanilla animations will become reliable enough that I can switch to a framework-free version. Until that happens, or SAF starts working better, this mod won’t work well for many users. Sorry—I wish I could fix it.

SAF Test Version notes:
This version needs a working SAF installation, not NAF. A separate user animation pack is no longer required; the animations are included with the mod.
VERY IMPORTANT:
Remove the old NAF versions and any ESP versions first. Uninstall all other versions, launch the game, wait 3 in-game days, and save. Only then try enabling the new version.
Running two versions together—for example, the old ESP and the new ESM—will cause CTDs and other problems.
SAF only works intermittently for me. Otherwise, the animations flicker without staying active. I suspect my installation is the problem, after so many rounds of switching game versions back and forth, recompiling scripts, and loading saves. Your setup may fare better.
Overview:
This mod plays two-person sexual NAF animations when the player is defeated in combat.

Requirements:
Starfield Animation Framework
Surrender needs this mod installed and working. It handles the animations; without it, actors will simply stand there doing nothing.
Features and current status
Defeat Sex Scene
A sex scene triggers when the PC takes a hit in combat, their health falls below the configured threshold (30% by default), and the attacker belongs to a supported race. Currently, only humans are supported.
Bad End Outcomes
These optional outcomes affect the player after a sex scene. Combat stays paused until the bad end scene finishes. Enable or disable them through the debug terminal.
Robbery (beta testing)
After sex, the player can pay a ransom. Refusing means being robbed and starting a recovery quest, with the player’s items stored in a chest in the debug cell. During the first day, the objective is to kill the enemy from the sex scene; the items will be placed on their corpse. After 1 day, the target changes to an enemy boss, who may be in the same location or somewhere else. The items will then be added to that boss’s corpse. The debug terminal lets you toggle robbery, adjust the ransom, or stop the quest. If necessary, you can also retrieve your items directly from the chest in the debug room.
Capture (beta testing)
Leaving the ransom unpaid also gives you a chance of capture instead of robbery. Capture moves the player to a random enemy base, places all their items in that base’s boss chest, starts a quest, and begins the Captor’s Mercy spell timer. While the timer is active, enemies probably won’t attack, though the AI is buggy. Talk to enemies and start sex scenes to reset the timer. Drawing a weapon will make them attack, as will talking to them while you have digipicks, weapons, or armor in your inventory. Opening the boss chest to recover your belongings also turns the enemies hostile.
Debug/QA Terminal and Room
Use coc ‘aaSurrenderCell’ to enter the debug room and access its terminal. Most mod settings are available there, including the health threshold, animation duration, stripping, and combat stopping.
The terminal also lets you adjust actor stripping, the number of loops for each sex stage, affinity and anger changes, and the amount of affinity gained. If something goes wrong, you can use it to force a stop/restart of the quest that handles dialogue stages and animations.
Sounds/Facial Expressions
The player should have voiced sounds and facial expressions during sex and bad ends. Lip sync works, but only somewhat.
Ecstacy Implant (beta testing)
A neuroamp in the QA room triggers masturbation animations at random intervals. There are two versions: a normal implant and a trapped one that alerts nearby enemies when it finishes vibrating.
DO NOT RAPIDLY EQUIP AND UNEQUIP THIS ITEM. Equipping the implant starts a timer, with timing adjustable at the debug terminal. Repeatedly taking it off and putting it back on creates multiple timers and will cause a CTD. After removing it, wait 15 minutes of game time before equipping it again. A message in the corner of the screen will tell you when it’s safe.
Creature Outcomes (beta testing)
This adds a barnacle spike insertion bad end when the player loses to a creature. It can be toggled at the debug terminal. Collision detection is still causing problems, so the player sometimes gets pushed out of position during the insertion.
Combat Stopping:
None of the usual approaches worked: the stopcombat script function, adding actors to a captive faction, or a stop combat spell. This version instead uses the console’s tcai function. It should work well, but tcai is a toggle rather than separate on/off commands. If the process gets interrupted, combat AI may not be switched back on afterward.
Actor Stripping:
There are two stripping methods in this version. The default strips both actors and registers their equipment, but only puts clothing and armor back on the NPC.
Method 1 — Strip/Register (default): The script removes items from slots 3 (body) and 35 (spacesuit), then stores their item IDs in a script variable. After sex, it uses those IDs to re-equip the items. This has worked well in internal testing; we’ll see how it behaves on other users’ setups.
Method 2 — Force Unequip: This backup option runs unequip() on every item slot. It does not restore equipment after sex. Companions can be told to put their clothing back on, but other NPCs will need the ‘resetinventory’ console command. Perhaps their AI packages will eventually make them get dressed again, but that isn’t certain.
Version Detection and Updating
This should check the script version against the version stored in your save. If they don’t match, it should restart the main animation-handling script.
Companions
Currently, up to 4 companions should enter a ‘hands up’ animation and remain inactive until the sex scene ends.
Haptic Support
The mod writes debug messages to the script log that can be read to trigger Bluetooth haptics. You’ll need a working installation of GIFT configured for Starfield.
Warnings and Known Problems:
You may have to disable god mode or re-enable enemy AI manually. The console commands are tgm and tcai.
Creature outcomes and the ecstacy implant are still very experimental and may behave poorly.
Place this mod at or near the bottom of your mod list.
Before reporting that the mod doesn’t work, please install the requirements listed above. The required animation-handling mods are essential; Surrender cannot work without them.
Planned Features and Status:
Better sounds and timing
Support for creatures
Additional animations and bad ends
More detailed furniture for bad ends
Additional devices that trigger events or conditions
A strap-on option and other extras (low priority)
I probably won’t add options for companions or multiple enemy NPCs to join sex scenes. I don’t think I can implement that while keeping the scripts reliable.
I also probably won’t add sex triggers for defeated NPCs. I expect that would cause game bloat and lag, and I have other mod work to tackle first.
If you’d like those features, you’re welcome to use this mod as a reference and build your own mod around them.
Installation:
Copy the mod’s contents into your Starfield directory, merging the contents of its ‘data’ folder into your own ‘data’ folder. Make sure NAFSurrender is enabled.
Uninstallation:
You can delete this mod’s files without taking any special precautions. It should not modify vanilla records or change or add anything to vanilla quests or other vanilla content.
Usage and Permissions:
You may build your own mods using these files, but nothing that uses them may be sold or otherwise charged for. Donations are fine only if they are entirely optional and non-paying users receive the same functionality. Please don’t reupload these files elsewhere, unless LL shuts down and I’m unable to upload them to its replacement. Mods using these files must not be posted to Nexus or Creations. That level of publicity is bad for adult modding.
